Happy New Year! I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunities that are ahead of us in 2022. Over the course of this week, I will be communicating our CMA word for the year, our top ten areas of impact in 2022, and several key personnel opportunities and changes.
To kick off the week, I would like to share with you our new structure for the Richmond market and how this positively affects our ability to create efficiencies, impact and performance.

Please join me in congratulating Ed Nicol!
Effective today, Ed Nicol will be the Executive Manager of CMA’s Richmond dealerships, along with his duties as General Manager of CMA’s Colonial Honda and CMA’s Colonial Kia. Ed will assist CMA in working with all General Managers in Richmond to improve our efficiencies in used cars, marketing, hiring and personnel decisions, and overall stronger collaboration between the leadership and associates in the market.
We have had a similar structure in the Staunton market and now in Winchester / Martinsburg. This structural change will allow CMA to accommodate recent and future growth by putting executive decision-making and oversight nearer to the markets where we do business.
Going forward, we have four Executive Managers – Ed Nicol, Scott Simons, John Grist, and Burke O’Malley – who all have extensive experience in their markets, in dealership operations, are committed to assisting their teams and fellow GMs to fulfill their potential, and are ready to assist CMA in developing our future direction. Our team of General Managers will be able to move more quickly, make decisions based on their market conditions, and have stronger collaboration and best practice sharing.
Look out for more announcements as the week progresses. It’s time to move more lives forward than ever before!!
Be safe on this snow day (for some), Liza
