CTE Signing Day in Richmond!

The ACE (Advanced Career Education) program in Henrico County offers Automotive Technology to high school Juniors & Seniors all across the County. The students attend traditional classes at their home high school and then report to Hermitage High School to attend Auto Tech classes.

We first met the students of the 2nd year class this past Fall. After meeting with Mac Beaton, director of Workforce Development, he suggested I speak with the Principal of the ACE program at Hermitage (Dale King). During that first meeting with Dale we discussed CMA’s vision of a Technician Apprentice Program where CMA offers a continued education and a dedicated career path to building a successful career as an automotive technician.  Mr. King was intrigued because CMA is the first Dealer Group to map out this career path and focused on continued education with Master Technicians as well as OEM training. At the conclusion of this meeting, we were invited to come to the classrooms and speak to the students, and her our journey really started!

Karl Soloe recognized Luke Massey, Alex Clarke, and Quinn McCarthy at interview day – they were well spoken, eager and all expressed a love for Honda!

After much deliberation, Karl hired all 3 (as well as one more you will hear about soon!)

At Signing Day, we celebrated with our Apprentices, their families, teachers and a few folks from CMA:  Karl Soloe, Jennie Lockett, Judi Anderson, Ed Nicol, Talal El Oukaili, Tony Gagliardi and Beth Lucchesi.  We had the opportunity to share with their parents more details on the future for their graduates!

We celebrate their accomplishment not only by becoming new Associates, but with a gift card to Snap On, CMA shirts & Hats and Honda swag to boot!

Congratulations to our newest team members!   We are so proud to have you with us!
