100 years ago today….it was the first day of operations of Petersburg Motor company. The corporation was formed in October of that year but today was the opening day of the company. The video below is an 8 minute snapshot of our 100 years, narrated by my dad, Carter Myers and my 4 year old niece, Lily, as a special guest ❤️
To my CMA team:
100 years ago, a group of CMA associates just like you were creating a vision of what was possible for their future. I imagine that they were eager, excited, hopeful, passionate. We recently had the opportunity (together with ASOTU | More Than Cars) to visit the original Petersburg motor company on Sycamore St and saw that the original parts counter sign is still there. On the second floor, the 15 service stalls are still marked on the walls, the “car elevator” is still somewhat intact (not safe) that brought the cars up to the second and then the third floor for service and body work. The paint area (not a booth and with no ventilation) was on the third floor along with 15 more service bays.
What I wouldn’t give to see the operation back on this day in 1924, the day that our company began. While I can’t go back in time, I want to encourage each of you to take a moment today and imagine that today is the first day of CMA. You have an opportunity to create a story and a legacy that will be a part of our next 100 years.
Let’s start our next 100 years with the best December in our history. This means starting each day, each conversation, each process, every Video Walk around for an internet lead, every Video MPI in service, every menu presentation in F&I, every wholesale parts delivery, every walkaround in the service lane, every phone call that is answered, every deal that is booked, every car that is detailed with the enthusiasm, focus, passion, and high level of care as if today was the first day, knowing that what we do today will impact thousands and millions of people over the next 1 year, 10 year, or maybe even 100 years of CMA.
It’s the first day of the rest of the story…
