CMA’s Green Action Team (GAT) March Meeting Recap!

CMA’s Green Action Team updates are here hot off the press with highlights of our most recent monthly meeting with our leaders last week!

Let’s inform our Trusted Partners! We want to engage our trusted partners and keep them in the know of our initiatives in sustainability! We are working with our controllers to create a process to get our new sustainability awareness letter (created by Katherine Waller of CMA’s CH) out to all vendors the during Earth Week 2024.

Thank you to Mike Kruse from Evergreen for his continuous support and ongoing research to help us be better in our efforts, specifically this month with our tire recycling and search for the ideal vender who can supply all of CMA with recycled paper.

Jennie Lockett went to Nashville!  Jennie provided us with an amazing recap of her Nashville award trip to Hotel1. Next month we are excited to hear the Top 3 things she learned about sustainability that we can implement at CMA.

The Nudge: Jennie reminded us on the importance of giving our associates a “nudge” when it comes to understanding the WHY as it relates to what we do in sustainability.

Let’s celebrate Earth Week: We have some fun things planned for Earth Week next month…

  • The Valley will focus on aluminum recycling
  • The Richmond Market is planning a movie night in the dealership with popcorn to educate associates
  • CAC will create overall awareness with gamification and prizes
  • Mandy Housley and Judi Anderson are going to Orchard View Elementary in Winchester to help educate 2nd grade students on recycling
  • The Earth Week trivia contest will be back on CMA People
  • Everyone will post on CMA People and social media during Earth Week to highlight our efforts and help to educate and create awareness

Bronze into Gold?  We are curious how our bronze recognitions from Plug Star can be turned to Gold, more to come on that.

2024 look out!  We are narrowing our focus on a few areas in sustainability where we are close to 100% participation across the board, aiming to hit 100% in these areas during CMA’s 100th anniversary year! The big challenge? We are looking to install TV monitors in all of our dealerships this year to be a visual awareness platform highlighting what’s going on at CMA, including sustainability efforts and much more!
