Happy 20-Year CMA Work Anniversary to Melanie Gibson!

Join us as we celebrate Melanie Gibson’s, our ESOP and 401k Administrator, on 20 years with CMA!

Melanie began her CMA career in our daily rental business, AutoRent which was later sold to Enterprise in 2005.  She was such a great associate that we wanted to make sure that even though the business was being sold, Melanie needed to stay in the CMA family. Thankfully she agreed and migrated to the team at CMA’s Volvo of Charlottesville and began working in our accounting office. A few years later, Carolyn Kyger announced that she would be retiring from CMA after almost 40 years with the company. Carolyn, otherwise know as Kitti, was our HR Director and the original administrator of our ESOP and 401K. As our company had grown, the number of associates served through our ESOP had become increasingly significant and we decided that we needed a full-time role to manage our retirement plans and support CMA as a Corporate Secretary. Melanie Gibson studied under Kitty for the better part of a year before she officially retired. We were able to celebrate Kitty’s retirement, knowing that our associates were in great hands with Melanie Gibson being promoted into this role. Over the many years, Melanie has continued to take on more and more duties for that most CMA associates never even know need to be done behind the scenes. She handles all of our franchise agreements with our manufacturers, leads our team through each Buy / Sell as the liaison for all corporate documents, communicates with state and other agencies to keep our company certifications current, and of course makes sure that our ESOP is run legally and in the best interest of all CMA owners across the company.  

In her free time, Melanie enjoys listening to live music and attending craft fairs with her daughter. She also enjoys visiting wineries. Melanie feels most relaxed when she’s reading either by the pool or at the beach.

Melanie is the glue that keeps much of our company together so please give her a huge shout out, a big thank you, an air high five from all of our CMA dealerships as we celebrate Melanie and her 20 year CMA Anniversary! Melanie, thank you for helping move the lives of our associates forward! You are an invaluable member of our CMA Support Team and we look forward to many more years together! Cheers!
