Recently CMA participated in the Liberty University Inaugural New Car Show. 17 dealers came together to support Liberty’s Automotive Leadership program.
Liberty University Junior, Asher Braatz had a vision of a New Car Show to showcase the Liberty Automotive program and its students. He saw this as a time to recruit and network as well as a chance to broaden the support base of the program. Hendrick created and currently teaches all the courses in the Auto Leadership curriculum.
86 students participated in the event. Each OEM exhibited was assigned a student team and team captain. Their goal was to come up with a theme to showcase the brand and the dealer who provided the car. There were secret judges who had Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday to evaluate the presentations.

Our CMA dealerships provided vehicles for the following teams:
- Team Cadillac – led by captain Hailey Vorkapich “Rolling out the Red Carpet”
- Team Volvo – led by Josh Gibbs “Simplicity Meets Elegance”
- Team Lincoln – led by Micah Payne “America’s Family SUV”
Beth Lucchesi and Judi Anderson from the CMA Support Team were in attendance and our very own Carter Myers presented the prizes to the winning students.
The winners were Team Subaru for Best in Show and Team Jeep for best display/theme.

Prior to the show opening the team captains visited CMA’s Colonial Auto Center for a tour and to borrow some props. They had the opportunity to meet Liza Borches and Rich Tritel and ask questions about our company, industry and future plans. Liza and Rich in turn learned more about the students and their goals during and after college.
